Breakdown of the Book of Daniel

Daniel first provides an overview of the Great Tribulation.  Below is the text in KJV with my notes included:

Daniel 7:17-28

17   These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth.
18   But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.
19   Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;
20   And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.
21   I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;
22   Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.

Notes: We see clearly that the entire plan of God is that His Saints will TAKE the kingdom (by force) and possess the kingdom for ever and ever.  We will be Righteous Judges (vs. 22) as we rule for eternity.

23   Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
24   And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.
25   And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times (of ordained feasts to holidays) and laws (the Torah): and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

Note: verse 25 defines the duration of the Great Tribulation or War on the Saints as time (1 year), times (2 years), and half a time (.5 years) or 3.5 years.

26   But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.
27   And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him (Yahshua the King).

Note: Again we see that the Saints of God “shall take away his dominion, to consume and destroy it in the end by force (Armageddon).

So at this point, Daniel has given us an overview of the last human kingdom.  It will be 3.5 years in duration and will be established for the purpose of waging war on the Saints of God to destroy them.  This kingdom will be controlled by the anti Messiah (behind the scenes) and this kingdom will be destroyed and replace by the Kingdom of Yahshua the Messiah and His Saints.

Continuing on, Daniel is given a vision and the explanation of this vision:

Daniel 8:9-14

9   And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land (Israel).
10   And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven (Saints); and it cast down some of the host (Saints) and of the stars (prophets/apostles) to the ground, and stamped upon them.
11   Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host (Michael the Archangel), and by him [YHWH] the daily [continual defense of the holy people provided by Michael see Dan 12:1, 2 Thess,  Rev 12] was taken away [as a result of the holy people transgressing the Feasts, Torah, and Sabbath], and the place of the sanctuary was cast down.

Note: Here are given the direction from which the anti Messiah approaches Israel (the pleasant land).  In vs. 11, the anti Messiah magnifies himself equal to Michael the Archangel (Prince of the Angelic Host and defender of the Holy People see Daniel 12:1).  And we see that the “daily or continual defense of the Holy People” is taken away “by YHWH”, and the “place of the sanctuary was cast down”.  Then Daniel reveals more detail concerning the daily or continual defense…

12   And an host [Saints] was given him [false messiah] against the daily [defense provided by Michael] by reason of transgression [against the Feasts, Torah, and Sabbath see Isaiah 24:1-6], and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered.

Note: Now we see clearly that the “host” or rather the Holy People or Saints are given over to the anti Messiah by YHWH for the reason of their own REBELLION against YHWH's Laws.  Due to the rebellion of the Holy People the daily or continual defense over them provided by Michael the Archangel along with the Holy People are given over to the anti Messiah.  The anti Messiah “casts truth to the ground” as he practices deceit and prospers.

13   Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily [defense], and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?
14   And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days (evenings and mornings); then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.

Note: We see in vs. 14 a timeframe given of 2,300 evenings and mornings between the removal of the daily defense and the TRANSGRESSION (infringement or violation of a law, command, or) that causes horror and desolation (for 1,260 days) before the Sanctuary is cleansed and restored.  2,300 could be days or 2,300 times the regular sacrifice is not offered.  It is offered twice a day (morning and evening) therefore it would be 1,150 days.  I believe this is a two fold prophecy both confirming the 70th Week of Daniel where the 2,300 days were fulfilled between the time the Jews were restricted from entering the Temple Mount to pray (March 1997) and 2,300 days later when they were again allowed on the Temple Mount to pray (July 2003).  The second part of this prophecy relates to the 1,150 days and is yet to be fulfilled.

There is described in Daniel the “TRANSGRESSION” that causes horror and desolation and the “ABOMINATION” that causes complete desolation.  The Transgression of Desolation is caused by the Holy People’s rebellion.  The Abomination of Desolation is caused by the anti Messiah erecting an idol alter on the Temple Mount .  They are two very different events and timeframes.  Read more here.

Daniel 8:23-26

23   And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.

Note: Here we see that the anti Messiah shall “stand up” or reveal himself at the LATTER TIME of his kingdom which is defined as 42 months.  Again we see a reference to the 1,260 days of horror caused by the TRANSGRESSION of the Holy People that causes the daily defense, sanctuary, and Holy People to be given over the anti Messiah.  We need to take notice, that it “in the latter time of his kingdom” that he stands up.  His kingdom is 1,260 days or 42 months in duration.  This begins to shed light on the timing of the Abomination of Desolation and indicates it occurs at the END of the Great Tribulation not the beginning.

Next Daniel identifies the anti Messiah to be a king of fierce countenance who understands “dark sentences” translated “trickery and craftiness” or rather occult craft.

24   And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.

Note: vs. 24 is critical.  The anti Messiah will be mighty BUT NOT BY HIS OWN POWER!  The anti Messiah is described. 

25   And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.
26   And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told is true: wherefore shut thou up the vision; for it shall be for many days.

Note: He considers himself superior, he is insolent (insultingly contemptuous in speech or conduct), skilled in intrigue (a secret scheme) and deceit.  His power will be mighty BUT NOT BY HIS OWN POWER.  He will destroy to an extraordinary degree as he prospers and does his will.  He will destroy the holy people.  THROUGH HIS SHREWDNESS (given to wily and artful ways or dealing) and his POLICY… he will cause DECEIT to succeed by his INFLUENCE. (the power or capacity of causing an effect in indirect or intangible ways, an emanation of occult power held to derive from stars).  He will destroy many while they are at ease and least expects it.  He will oppose Yahshua the Messiah, but he will be utterly destroyed not by human agency but by Yahshua the Messiah.

Daniel 9:26 Even until the end, war and desolations (plural) are determined.

Dan 11:21 anti Messiah arises.  A despicable, vile (morally despicable or abhorrent) person, a prince on whom the kingship has not yet been conferred, and will seize the kingdom by intrigue (a secret scheme).  He will shatter the forces of armies and the prince of the covenant.  After an alliance is made with him (by whom we don’t know), he will go up and gain power with a SMALL FORCE OF PEOPLE (illuminati) and come up unexpectedly.  The anti Messiah then launches a series of wars and destroys the king of the South.  Then he sets his hatred against the Holy Covenant, he will take action, then return to his own land.  He again attempts an attack is it is thwarted.  He then becomes enraged at the Holy Covenant and takes action.  He comes back, this time he shows regard for those who forsake the Holy Covenant.

Dan 11:31 Then forces from him will arise, desecrate the sanctuary fortress, and do away with the Regular Sacrifice.  And (then) they will setup the Abomination of Desolation an Idol Alter.

And then with smooth words he will make those who act wickedly toward the Holy Covenant seem Godly.  But the Saints will display strength and take action and do exploits (notable or heroic acts).  Those with insight among the people will give understanding of what is going on to the many.  Yet the Saints will be martyred. 

The Saints will fall by the sword and captivity for many days.

 

Now Detail is Given

Dan 11:36 – 38 Further describes the anti Messiah.  He now is a king and does his own will.  He exalts and magnifies himself above every god and speaks monstrous things against the God of Israel.  He prospers until the indignation is finished and the decreed judgment against him is done.  He will honor a god of fortresses, a god his fathers did not know.  The anti Messiah will honor this foreign god with his treasures.  He will show no regard for the desire of women.

The anti Messiah will take action against the strongest nations with the help of a foreign god.  The anti Messiah will give great honor to men who acknowledge his foreign god.  He will elevate these men who honor his god, parcel out land to them for a price, and put them as rulers over the nations.

40

At the END TIME… The kings of the South and North will storm against him and collide with him as he conquers country by country. 

41 Then (at the very end) he will enter Israel (the Beautiful Land ) and many countries will fall to him.  The following countries will be RESCUED from him… Edom , Moab , and Ammon.

42 The anti Messiah will then attack other countries and Egypt will fall to him.  He will conquer Egypt , Libya , and Ethiopia .

43    Rumors of war against him from the EAST and from the NORTH will disturb him.  He will then go forth with great wrath to destroy and annihilate many. 

44.    Then after all this war, he will plant his tabernacle and palace between the seas IN (NKV) the Holy Mountain in Israel.  At that time, he will come to his end and there will be no escape for him.

Chapter 12 Continues with a description of the Great Time of Distress or Great Tribulation Period

First, Michael the archangel will arise and be taken away from standing guard over the Holy People.  This marks the beginning of time when the Saints are vulnerable to destruction.  There will be a time of distress such as never occurred in the history of man.  HOWEVER, everyone found written in the book of life will be RESCUED.

Verse 4… God seals the book of Daniel until the END TIMES when travel is global and knowledge has increased.

Verse 6-7 Two angels discuss the duration of the Great Tribulation.  It will be for a time, times, and half a time.  3.5 years.  This is the duration of time taken to SCATTER (to divide into ineffectual small portions) THE POWER OF THE HOLY PEOPLE.

Verse 9 Again the prophecies are sealed until the END TIMES.

Verse 10-13… THOSE WITH INSIGHT WILL UNDERSTAND the following riddle:

From the time the regular sacrifice is abolished until the Abomination of Desolation is setup is 1,290 days in duration.  From the time the regular sacrifice is abolished and Yahshua returns to begin the Millennial Reign is 1,335 days.  Creating a 45-day window where the sign of the Son of God is in the sky and darkness is over the earth.  A special blessing is given to those who attain to the 1,335th day.

Revelation 11:7  The two witness prophecy for 1,260 days THEN the beast conquers Jerusalem and kills them.  This confirms the A/D occurs after the 3.5 years.  It is the two witnesses that torment the people of Earth with drought and plaques.  The anti Messiah killing them will further enforce that he is the Messiah.

Rev 12:6  The woman flees to the wilderness for 1,260 days where she is protected.

Rev 12:7-12 Satan and his demons are thrown to Earth.  With only a very short time remaining, Satan wages war on the Church for 3.5 years.

January 16, 2004 is 1,335 days from Sept 13, 2007

March 1, 2004 is 1,290 days from Sept 13, 2007

April 1, 2004 is 1,260 days from Sept 13, 2007 .

I believe the spread is at the end.  The trib begins March 1, 2004 .

So 1,260 days from March 1, 2004 is August 14th when Trib ends and Witness Killed.

1,290 days from March 1, 2004 is September 13, 2007 when A/D is committed and the Messiah returns.

1,335 days from March 1, 2004 is October 28, 2007 when the Millennial Reign begins.
