The End of the Age – 1948-2007
The study of end events begins with the re-birth of Israel as a sovereign nation as prophesied by Isaiah:
5 Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name's sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.
6 A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the LORD that rendereth recompence to his enemies.
7 Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child.
8 Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.
This prophecy declares that Zion would bring forth her child (the Nation of Israel) comparing the rebirth of Israel to the world giving birth after much pain. After the devastation rendered on the Jewish people by Hitler, the United Nations repaid the Jewish people declaring the land of Israel a sovereign Jewish state for the first time in over 2,000 years!
The prophecy that Israel would be reborn in 1 day would mark the end of the prophecy known as the ‘Servitude of the Nation of Israel’ and Israel’s return to national sovereignty. This duration that the Nation of Israel would be under foreign control was prophesied by Jeremiah and Ezekiel and known as the ‘Servitude of the Nation of Israel’.
Understanding these prophecies demonstrates God’s sovereign control over human events and the literal nature of prophetic fulfillment. Bible prophecy ties it all these events together, resulting in the Nation of Israel’s punishment ending exactly on May 14, 1948 (the official date Israel was declared a nation). Let me explain:
Jeremiah’s 70 Year Prophecy of Punishment - Jeremiah 25:11
Jeremiah prophesied a punishment upon the Nation of Israel for rebellion. The Nation of Israel would have to spend 70 years under Babylonian captivity. According to history, that punishment began in 606 BC. The 70-year punishment was to end in 536 BC.
However, during this 70-year punishment, God pronounced, through Ezekiel, 430 years of punishment for the Nation of Israel’s continued rebellion. This leaves 360 years (430 – 70 years already served). The failure of the Nation of Israel to repent invoked the Law of Leviticus, which multiplied the remaining 360 years of punishment by 7 resulting in 2,520 years Israel would not be a sovereign nation:
Leviticus 26:18-28
18
And if ye will not yet for all this hearken unto
me, then I will punish you seven times more
for your sins.
…
21 And if ye walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me; I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins.
22 I will also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle, and make you few in number; and your high ways shall be desolate.
23 And if ye will not be reformed by me by these things, but will walk contrary unto me;
24 Then will I also walk contrary unto you, and will punish you yet seven times for your sins.
25 And I will bring a sword upon you, that shall avenge the quarrel of my covenant: and when ye are gathered together within your cities, I will send the pestilence among you; and ye shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy.
26 And when I have broken the staff of your bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver you your bread again by weight: and ye shall eat, and not be satisfied.
27 And if ye will not for all this hearken unto me, but walk contrary unto me;
28 Then I will walk contrary unto you also in fury; and I, even I, will chastise you seven times for your sins.
The Servitude of the Nation of Israel
Let's examine Ezekiel, chapter 4, verses 1-8. In this passage, we see 430 years of judgment pronounced upon Israel. Seventy years can be accounted for by the Babylonian captivity. This leaves 360 years that does not seem to fit any particular date in history. However, there are passages in Leviticus (26:18,21,24,28) that indicate that if Israel does not obey Him the first time, God will multiply her punishment by seven. So if we take the 360 years of punishment pronounced on Israel and multiply by seven, we get 2,520 years.
Knowing that the Bible deals in 360-day years (the Jewish calendar consists of twelve 30-day months), if we convert the 2,520 ``360-day years'' into today's ``365.242-day'' years, we get 2,483 years plus nine months and 21 days.
Starting with the first siege of Nebuchadnezzar, which began the `Servitude of the Nation' in 606 B.C., the initial 70 years of Babylonian servitude ended in 537 B.C. as follows:
Seventy (360 day) years = 25,200 days = 69 (365 day years) less 2 days or: 606 B.C. (69 years - two days) = 537 B.C.
Counting from July 23, 537 B.C. with the release from servitude, we get:
537y 7m 23d (B.C.) plus 1year (because no year between 1 B.C. & 1 A.D.) plus 2483 years 9months and 12days = the 1948th year 5 month 14th day.
And what happened on May 14, 1948?
David Ben Gurion, citing the book of Ezekiel as his authority, proclaimed ``Israel'' as the new Jewish homeland. The nation of Israel was re-established on the exact day predicted by the Bible.
This is the exact date that God re-established the Nation of Israel and the date Yahshua said would mark the beginning of the ‘End of the Age’. So, Yahshua as well as most Bible scholars have known the date of Israel’s restoration, as well as the timeframe for the Messiah’s second coming.
On May 14, 1948 the United Nations declared the Nation of Israel a sovereign nation for the first time in 2,483 years! This date fulfilled Isaiah 66:7-8 and marked the end of the prophecy called the ‘Servitude of the Nation of Israel’ declared through Ezekiel and Jeremiah.
On May 14, 1948, the nation Israel was reestablished on the world scene. A remarkable coincidence. Isaiah appears to have highlighted this very restoration:
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people:
Isaiah 11:11, 12
And he shall set up an ensign
for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together
the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
Now that we know the exact date of a specific prophecy, we can discern the entire timeline! The next milestone would be the prophecy called the ‘Abominations of Jerusalem’ marking the beginning of what Yahshua called ‘The Last Generation’.
The Last Generation – 1967 – 2007
The next major marker during the ‘End of the Age’ is the re-capture of Jerusalem and the Temple Mount. This event was prophesied by Jeremiah and Ezekiel and known as the end to the ‘Desolations of Jerusalem’.
The Desolations of Jerusalem
The Desolations of Jerusalem begins with the 3rd Siege of Nebuchadnezzar when Jerusalem fell in 587 B.C. Counting from August 16, 518 B.C., which was the completion of the Desolations of Jerusalem, then we have:
518year 8month 16day (BC) plus 1 year plus 2483years 9months 21days = 1967 6month 7day
On June 7, 1967, as a consequence of the miraculous Six Day War where Israel miraculously defeated all the Arab armies combined, the Old City of Jerusalem fell under Israeli control for the first time since Yahshua' prediction:
Luke 21:24
``And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.''

Another coincidence? The Jews say coincidence is not a kosher word. In the natural, it is impossible that this is coincidence. It is clearly by supernatural design. The fig tree is a symbol of the Nation Israel and we are the generation that will see the return of Yahshua the Messiah in Glory and great Power.
The Last Generation
It was the end of the ‘Desolations of Jerusalem’ that Yahshua prophesied that He would return within 1 Generation. Yahshua referred to both the Servitude of the Nation and the Desolation of Jerusalem prophesies in Matthew:
Matthew 24:32-36
vs 32 "When the tree is yet tender" meaning after the rebirth of Isreal in fulfillment of OT prophecy ... fulfilled April 14, 1948 the culmination of the "Servitude of the Nation of Israel" prophecy of Jeremiah and Ezekiel... "and puts forth its leaves" meaning Israel regains the Temple Mount and Jerusalem ... fulfilled on June 7, 1967 the culmination of the "Desolations of Jerusalem" prophecy of Jeremiah and Ezekiel...
vs. 34 "this generation will not pass away" meaning from June 7, 1967 there is 40 years 120 days which is a Biblical generation before everything concerning End Events are fulfilled. Which is September 13, 2007.
vs. 36 "but of that day or hour no man knoweth" Yahshua was confirming His second coming according to God's Feast Cycle using a Jewish idiom for the Feast of Trumpets "but my father only" Yahshua was using another Jewish idiom referring to the wedding feast that occurs after the Feast of Trumpets because Jewish weddings were pre-arranged by the Father.
