Subject: Yom Kippur Question

Paul,

I have a question.  I have enjoyed celebrating the feasts so much.  I have just kept having this question come to mind, so I thought it was time to ask someone.  Lucky you!

I get the other feasts - at least I think I do.  I don't understand why we have to keep the Day of Atonement when Yahshua's blood was the atonement for our sins?  Please explain.  Also, do you fast from food and water on this day?

Thanks,
donna

*btw- Is your discourse with Dee over?

Donna,

This is a very good question.  A question that most would never have the insight to ask.  This question is similar to "if Yahshua conquered sin/death, we do I still sin and die?"  The answer to this question is at the very heart of the divide between Remnant Israel.  The House of Israel accepts the Messiah in faith he will complete his task.  The House of Judah is waiting for the completed task to accept the Messiah.  You see, Yahshua still has some unfinished business to attend.  What Yahshua has done at this point is fulfill the Spring Feasts.  He has shed his blood as the Passover Lamb which saves us from the second death.  He mediates for our sin as High Priest, but he has yet to atone for creation and redeem us.

The Word makes it clear that Yahshua WAS (passed tense) sent (as the Passover Lamb) TO BE (future tense) the Savior of the world (atonement).

1 John 4

14   And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.

At this time, we have been "purchased with a price", but our bodies and this "world" are still held captive to sin/death... we have yet to be redeemed.  The redemption of our bodies and creation occurs when Yahshua comes back to fulfill the Fall Feasts at which time Yahshua atones for creation and sin/death are the last to be put under his feet.

Romans 8
20 For the creation was subjected to futility (when Adam fell), not willingly, but because of YHWH who subjected it in hope (of a coming Messiah); 21 because the creation itself also will be delivered (in the coming Fall Feastsfrom the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God (on the DAY OF ATONEMENT). 22 For we know that the whole creation groans and labors (for 6,000 years per the Sabbath Covenant) with birth pangs together until now (the 7th Millennium, the Sabbath). 23 Not only that, but we also who have the Firstfruits (The Passover Lamb/Feast of First Fruits/Spring Feasts) of the Spirit (Given on the Feast of Weeks, the guarantee/Spring Feasts), even we ourselves groan within ourselves (along with creation because we have not yet been resurrected and delivered), eagerly waiting for the adoption (as elohim, into the Family of YHWH), the redemption of our body (deliverance on the Feast of Trumpets, the Rapture/Resurrection/Fall Feasts). 24 For we were saved (during the Spring Feasts by the Passover Lamb) in this hope (that He will return again and fulfill the Fall Feasts, resurrected our bodies and liberate creation), but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees (we have not yet witness the fulfillment of the Fall Feasts, so Hope for our deliverance endures)? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it (our deliverance during the Fall Feasts) with perseverance (those who persevere until the end, shall be delivered).
So Donna, as you see above in Romans 8, we were "saved" vs.24 by the Passover Lamb in the hope that Yahshua will return and redeem vs.23 our body and deliver creation from the bondage of corruption on the Day of Atonement.  AT-ONE-MENT with YHWH through Yahshua has not literally occurred.  We only have "a guarantee" at this point that Yahshua will reconcile creation back to YHWH in the future.  This is why we celebrate The Day of Atonement... It is THE DAY we become AT ONE in a very literal sense and Yahshua redeems that which has been guaranteed by the Spirit of YHWH and given to Yahshua.

It was on The Day of Atonement that the High Priests in Israel made atonement for the people.  It was on this day and this day only, that the Ark of the Covenant was involved and only this day that any human eyes saw the Ark of the Covenant.  The future fulfillment of The Day of Atonement is described in Revelation 11.  We see a picture of the Fall Feasts below.  We see the 7th Trumpet of Rosh Hashanah (Feast of Trumpets) THEN we see the Kingdoms of this world become His Kingdom.  It is THEN that YHWH begins to reign through His King Yahshua.  And we see the Saints who reverence the name of YHWH (the Seal) and the Prophets REWARDED, which is the redemption of their bodies eternal (eternal life is the promise of which we patiently await) and that gift is given after the 7th Trumpet or after The Feast of Trumpets... WHEN THE ARK OF THE COVENANT is once again brought out.  This is a picture of The Day of Atonement when creation is liberated.
Revelation 11
The Seventh Trumpet
15 The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said: "The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of YHWH and of his Messiah,
and he will reign for ever and ever." 16 And the twenty-four elders, who were seated on their thrones before YHWH, fell on their faces and worshiped YHWH,
17 saying: "We give thanks to you, YHWH Almighty, the One who is and who was, because you have taken your great power and have begun to reign.
18 The nations were angry; and your wrath has come. The time has come for judging the dead, and for rewarding your servants the prophets and your saints and those who reverence your name (YHWH),
both small and great— and for destroying those who destroy the earth."

19 Then God's temple in heaven was opened, and within his temple was seen the ark of his covenant. .

What a day that will be.  It is THE greatest day in YHWH's Plan for Mankind.  That is why we keep The Day of Atonement.  And yes, this is the only required fast day of the year.  Water only.

No, I'm not done with Dee yet.
